Small Mithril: | In the barrel in the south-west corner |
Send either Honesty or Thousand over to destroy the barrel containing the small mithril, this will give you access to a secret room after the battle. If you send anyone else then you won't get the small mithril in the barrel as the enemy will appear and attack the barrel, so the treasure will be lost. More enemies will spawn in this battle when you cross certain points on the map but if you want the battle to be over as soon as possible, send your force over to the HQ, ignoring the rest of the monsters, and kill the boss when it flies down from the top of the HQ. Be careful around the sand worms as their special attack can send you to sleep!
End of Battle
The monsters are defeated and one of the houses descends; Primula the fairy emerges from it and talks with Julian's force. They spend the night in Maya Village and in the morning, Primula takes them to see Master Ishahacut (Master Gabriel in the english scenario 1). He shows them the location of Ark Hill and tells them about the ceremony of Evolution which Gracia needs to undergo to release his true powers. He also shows them the location of Remotest and the Bulzome Divine Palace. After the conversation, Primula joins Julian's force.

Don't leave Gracia stranded in the desert, get him out as soon as possible, keep a few characters nearby to help him if he gets in trouble (such as Edmund or Rollie who can cast antidote 2 on him if the Sand Worms put him to sleep). If you don't want the Cerberus' to spawn or respawn, keep your force in the trees and the area behind the trees. The Sand Worms won't spawn anymore if no one is standing in the desert. Send your 3 fastest characters into the tomb before following the forest through to the boss.

The monsters are defeated and from the desert rises Ark Hill! The evolution ceremony for Gracia lies within and the force enters.

Gracia cannot move from the center of the Yin-Yang symbol in the middle of the map and you have to manoeuvre the four Mud Dolls to all stand beside him. At the end of each of the Mud Doll's turns, they face a direction indicationg which way they will move the next turn. They always move 5 steps so you have to position your characters infront of them to block them off, and send them the way you want. Use your characters therefore to position them around Gracia, once they are in the correct position they will stop moving. If one of the Mud Dolls ends their turn on a coloured square on the ground, a speel will be cast on every member of your force (and any monsters). The squares each correspond to a different spell, they are:

Try to keep them off the patterned blocks therefore. Once all the Mud Dolls are standing next to Gracia (not diagonally to him) they will disappear and the battle will end.
End of Battle
The Evolution ceremony is completed and the spirit inside Gracia is released, and Ark Hill vanishes, he is now an innovator. Gracia uses his power and increases Julian's power too (i.e. he promotes him). Julian's force now heads over the mountains to meet up with Synbios' force.
Note: From now on you will be able to promote your characters when they reach level 20. Just go to the church as normal and select 'promote', but Gracia will promote them, not the Priest.

By this point in the game you may have found some blue material, named Orifalcon, which you can take to a smithy to make the best weapons out of. When you are ready, head to the doorway and Marky will appear and create a blizzard inside the hut. Julian's force succeeds in driving her out though, exit the hut to engage in battle.

Marky takes two actions per turn in this battle; one determined by her agility where she casts Blizzard, and another towards the end of each turn where she takes a normal action. If your characters are on the strip of land with the icicles they will be hit by Marky's Blizzard, any icicles destroyed will be remade by Blizzard. Destroy the icicles and move your characters past them before Marky can cast Blizzard, stop some characters on the spots where the icicles appear to stop them re-appearing so that all your characters can get through. To win the battle, either kill Marky or talk to her using Julian or Gracia. If you talk to her she will join the force after the battle.

Gracia doesn't have the Besem Staff for this battle so his power will be reduced and he will not have the blessing spell, keep him safe because if he dies you lose. Galm takes two actions per turn in this battle, one determined by his agility and another at the end of each turn so save all of Isabella's and Gracia's MP for healing magic. After each turn, a new monsters will appear, but ignore then unless they come too close for comfort, in which case ignore them more. Galm recovers 20 HP after each action he takes, 40 HP a turn, but he shouldn't be too much trouble if you gang everyone up on him. Try sucking out his MP with Brigit's drain spell so he can only hit multiple targets with Chaos Cauldron (which spreads out damage if it hits multiple targets).
End of Battle
Galm is defeated and Julian has finally avenged his father. Galm tells Julian's force how they must defeat Bulzome with Synbios and Medion. After the conversation, Julian's force heads for the village of Dormant where they hope to meet with Synbios.
