Ratchet - Tactics
General Tactics
Ratchet is another long distance fighter, and a very unique one at that. Although he is weak at first, with a little training he becomes stronger, however, he is far from being the strongest character in the game, the reason being that he can only equip class B weapons. Ratchet is also a good character because he is the only member of the force aside from Synbios who offers attack friendship support - utilise this well to boost your characters' attack stats.
Magic and Magic Resistance
Unfortunately for him, Ratchet has no magical inclination whatsoever and terrible magic resistance.
Weapons and Equipment
Get rid of Ratchet's anchor at first and equip him with a long bow for more effective fighting. However, don't abandon the anchor altogether, as it is still a strong weapon. The best anchor to equip Ratchet is the Spin Anchor as it has the highest attack boost of the anchors, gives him a special and raises his counter. With anchors and long bow mastered, Ratchet can fight at a distance as well as close in combat
Ratchet is another candidate for that illustrious Apollo Pin but if you can't get that then try equipping him with either a Master Ring or Attack Ring.
