Once you're done exploring the town make sure Synbios and Dantares have plenty of healing drops, then talk to the guard on the right of the castle gates. Tell him you won't wait any longer and then insist on rushing Tristus. Wilmer will appear and take you to the waiting you if you agree to his offer. Synbios, Dantares and Palsis are locked in the waiting room, the only way out is through the window into the courtyard where a trap will surely be waiting for them. Murasame appears and tells them that Tristus' son, Algernon, is in the gands of Braff and that Tristus himself is a prisoner in his own castle. Synbios and Dantares brave the dangers outside while Murasame goes to gather the rest of Synbios' force. Head through the window and prepare for battle...

End of Battle
Braff is defeated but Basanda arrives and takes her son to be healed, she also tells Synbios that she'll be waiting for him should he choose to venture into Aspia. Pick up the stone gem and use it on the statue in Aspia to enter the catacombs and face Basanda...

Firstly, rush your fastest characters to the tomb entrance because the thief will have a head start on your force in the ruins. The rest of your force can wait outside the ruins while you stop the thief as the enemies won't move towards you unless you're close to them. If you cast return during this battle then you won't be able to get the mitra ankh because the thief won't be there the next time, so save the game at the beginning of the battle and if you don't get it, then reset.
Thief Map #6
If you want Spiriel to join Julian's party in scenario 3, then do not kill her. Give one of your wizards the magic wand and use them and Hagane to put her to sleep during the battle.
| Spiriel |
When you reach Basanda, be careful at the bridge and don't let her block if off so that only one character can attack her. Don't isolate any of your characters when you're near her as her Thanatos level 2 spell will kill them but the damgae will spread out if it hits more than one character.
End of Battle
With Basanda defeated, Synbios' force tries to take the cane that is controlling the collosus but they cannot hold it because of the negative power. Spiriel is freed of Basanda's control (if you didn't kill her) but she doesn't want to help either the Empire or the Republic. Synbios' force is about to exit the catacombs to Aspia Castle's bridge when Fynnding arrives and tells them that Lord Tristus is free and wants to hold a strategy meeting with Synbios. Fynnding also informs them that the collosus wil attack both Empire and Republic forces. This information gives Palsis an idea and he comes up with a plan to use the water from Aspia's dam to destroy the collosus. Fynnding joins Synbios' force and agrees to lead the secondary unit to the dam.

Before you fight for Aspia's freedom there are a number of things you can do. First, if you want to train your characters you can use the hero's test in Aspia catacombs. I recommend training your main force to between levels 15 and 20, and if you want to train your secondary force aim for level 10 although it's possible to do the battle at the dam without training your secondary force at all.
Hero's Test
At the bar in Malorie, there is a place where you can hire mercenaries, Dailu's bar. If you've found every character in scenario 1 though, you'll only be able to hire one mercenary. If that's the case, Twiggy or Piper are the best because of their magic. If you missed three characters or more though, hire the lot as these mercenaries will help you win the battle at the dam.
If you talk to the owner of the item shop from behind the counter then she will give you the healing rain. There are only 2 other healing rains in scenario 1 so getting a free one is extremely helpful.
Before the final battle, make sure both your teams are fully stocked up and prepared. In scenario 3, the items in your HQ from scenario 1 don't get transferred so take everything you want with you characters. Don't take any mithril because it will be redundant towards the end of scenario 3.
Battle #28 - King's City Battle #1
Enemies | HP | MP | ATK | DEF | AGL | LCK | SPD | EQUIPPED | MAGIC | SPECIALS | ITEM | GOLD |

Collosus | - | - | 70 | 56 | 18 | 10 | 0 | - | - | Hammer Boomrang X-Spark | - | - |
The aim of this battle is to survive while the secondary force opens the dam. Kill as many Imperial soldiers as you can, though more respawn at the far end of the bridge. Once the collosus appears at the beginning of turn 5, retreat to the enbanked area of the bridge, at the castle end. The collosus has three special moves, hammer, boomerang and X-Spark. By bunching up your characters, you'll reduce the amount of damage each character takes from X-Spark and hammer only hits those infront of the collosus, so boomrang is the only attack to fear. Use aura and healing drops to survive.
You cannot destroy the collosus with your force, you can destroy it's arms (leaving it with only X-Spark) but after that it will take no further damage. You can however destroy it if you have the Japanese version of scenario 1. In this case, the collosus has 6000 HP and it drops 3000 gold, but you still have to complete the battle at the dam to progress to the final battle.
Battle #29 - King's City Battle #2
Enemies | HP | MP | ATK | DEF | AGL | LCK | SPD | EQUIPPED | MAGIC | SPECIALS | ITEM | GOLD |
Silver Knight x 6 | 60 | 0 | 60 | 42 | 23 | 3 | 7 | Heavy Lance | - | Dominion Ray | Healing Drop | 830 |

Griffon x 2 | 80 | 0 | 60 | 46 | 25 | 4 | 7 | - | - | Tornado | Healing Drop | 920 |
Giga Breaker BOSS | 170 | 0 | 66 | 56 | 20 | 4 | 6 | Battle Axe | - | Full Swing | Healing Drop | 1100 |
There are two ways to do this battle, the hard way and the easy way.
Hard way: Train your reserve force to around level 10 or higher (although it's possible to do the battle without training them at all) and take advantage of the enemie's weaknesses. So use gladiators against the Silver Knights (taking both Horst and Obright will help a lot), knights and cavaliers aren't very useful in this battle because they can't exploit any enemy weaknesses and the Giga Breaker will be strong against them (which is why Elrick is the worst mercenary). If you haven't trained your characters then you'll have to do this battle slowly and carefully which will mean your main force will have to hold out longer against the collosus.
Easy way: Equip Fynnding with the rapier and fly him to the Giga Breaker, dodging the Griffon flying above the river, and save the game just before he can attack him. Attack the Giga Breaker and hope that Fynnding uses the 'Danse Macabre' special (3rd special with rapiers for birdwarriors) because it can utterly destroy the Giga Breaker in one hit. If Fynnding doesn't perform it or if Danse Macabre doesn't utterly destroy the Giga Breaker, reset the game and load up the save to try again, repeat until the Giga Breaker is utterly destroyed. You can reset the game without pressing the reset button by holding A + B + C and pushing start. For better results, equip Fynnding with an accesory that raises critical or luck such as the Master Ring or the Mars Chain (the Mars Chain raises both critical and luck). Make sure all of Synbios' force is safe first though, because they only have one turn to get to safety after this battle is won.
Battle #30 - King's City Battle #3
Enemies | HP | MP | ATK | DEF | AGL | LCK | SPD | EQUIPPED | MAGIC | SPECIALS | ITEM | GOLD |
Bow Knight x 2 | 57 | 0 | 59 | 40 | 21 | 3 | 5 | Heavy Long Bow | - | - | Fairy Powder | 860 |
Giga Breaker x 2 | 170 | 0 | 66 | 56 | 20 | 4 | 6 | Battle Axe | - | Full Swing | Healing Drop | 1100 |
High Wizard x 2 | 90 | 75 | 58 | 44 | 28 | 6 | 5 | Talisman Rod | Spark 3 Aura 3 | - | Iron Circlet | 1900 |
Blue Dragon x 2 | 120 | 0 | 68 | 54 | 25 | 5 | 6 | - | - | Blizzard Breath | Goddess Tear | 1600 |
Arrawnt BOSS | 600 | 0 | 78 | 54 | 26 | 9 | 6 | Spark Blade | - | Photon Rage Counter | - | 2500 |
Arrawnt gets two actions a turn in this battle, one determined by his agility and another at the end of each turn. He won't move from his spot so only one character can attack him head on at a time (unless you fly Elder round the back). His Spark Blade allows him to cast Spark 3 (without the need of any MP) on your force, luckily it isn't very strong and he won't use it if your force is low on health (how kind). First, draw out the Giga Breakers and Bow Knights and dispose of them. Then, try to position your force in front of Arrawnt so that you can get as many hits on him as you can from magic and ranged weapons. Spark the High Wizards into oblivion (Elder can fly behind and help kill them) and then concentrate everything you have on Arrawnt. If the Blue Dragons come a little too close for comfort then send some of your force out to kill them. Save your game regularly if you intend on doing something risky and make sure Synbios doesn't die, otherwise you'll have to do all three battles again. Before you kill Arrawnt, take off all the weapons your force has equipped, this will make battle #24 of scenario 3 much easier.
End of Battle
With Prince Arrawnt's defeat, the Republic once again regains control of Aspia. Unfortunately, as Tristus mobilised the Malorie army to attack Arrawnt's reserves, the ninja Yasha appears and cuts the rope that is holding Algernon above the water. Synbios prepares to throw himself into the rapid-flowing river to save his nephew but Fynnding appears just in time and saves Algernon who is finally returned to his father.
However, all is not well as an Imperial army has been spotted heading towards the castle, Prince Medion and Emperor Domaric have invaded Aspia...
